It may seem like there is a lot to learn when starting out with Cloth Nappies but it is really about what works for you and your family.
You may have Googled lots of things - Why choose cloth nappies? Which cloth nappies should I use? How many cloth nappies will I need? And, usually most importantly, how much will cloth nappies cost me!
I hope that you have found the information you seek via Google or here on our website. If you have any questions about cloth nappies you can contact me as I'm happy to help. I can also provide you with some really useful social accounts to follow and Facebook Groups that are a wealth of knowledge and can be a great help along your journey.
The answers to some of your questions though can only be answered by you. Trial (and some error) is a great way to find the best fit for you and your family. Cloth nappies come in all different shapes, sizes and styles and the only way to know what works for you is to try the brand you like the look and style of best and if it works increase your number of nappies.
Or start with a variety of brands/styles then decide what you'd like to invest your money in. Chubby Cheeks offers a range of "bundles" that include different brands and styles that are perfect for starting out or for building your stash. These are well-priced options and are regularly changed so keep checking back for additional options. Or get in touch and we can put together a custom bundle offer for you.
Cloth nappies differ in quality and materials - you get what you pay for in most cases but there are some great options out there that are very affordable. Isn't that what we all want? Affordable cloth nappies that are good quality? That is what our company is about - providing you with a range of nappies that are well priced, made from high-quality materials and come from manufacturers with high standards of quality control.
Inserts also come in a variety of fabrics and levels of absorbency - more information can be found in our Materials Information page. Again, what materials work for you is a case of trialing them on your child. There are great tried and true combinations but feel free to test some new insert combinations out for yourself.
Don't be afraid to "mix things up" either. If you've found an insert that really works for you use it with a shell that you really like the fit of. Brand A insert does not have to be used with Brand A nappy.
You just have to try - our philosophy is to get parents to try cloth nappies. Give them a go - see if you notice monetary savings, a change in rubbish, a change in comfort for your child and I bet you don't even notice that there is some extra washing to hang out.
We hope you persevere with your reusable cloth nappy journey. If you haven't found the answers you need about absorbency of inserts, costs of cloth, benefits of using cloth and saving money with a baby then please contact us for some one to one support.
